Uncle Cafe

This tiny cafe is located in Sri Thanu, overlooking the lake.   It’s a small cafe with wonderful food and fantastic ambiance, with a splendid view of the lake.

The owners are warm and welcoming, attentive to your needs and aim to please.

Good Thai food here as well as smoothies and shakes.

Really like this place, give it a try.

Santhiya Resort

Ahh, Santhiya, what a gorgeous resort!   Located on the East side of Koh Phangan, Santhiya is a True get away.   It’s lovely and meticulously maintained grounds are spectacular.    Their beautifully decorated and designed rooms, with old Thai Royal Architecture is stunning.

And their food, equally as awesome.    Wake up to your mornings, during season to their grand Breakfast Buffet, chock full of so many culinary delights it is difficult to choose which one to eat first, really good!

Their beach bar also has this Steak Sandwich, I’m particularly fond of, just right, I love it.

All the food here at Santiya’s world class resort is exceptional and when you want to treat yourself and luxuriate yourself you’ll be very Happy you choose to do it here.

Excellent by any standard.   A Must on Koh Phangan!

Peppercorn

Peppercorn, located on the Northwest end of Koh Phangan knows how to do classic steaks and chops well.

Chef Friddi and his wife are the proprietors at this lovely location and the food, as well as the service are Wonderfull.

Steaks are cooked to perfection and his sauces are to die for.    Try his signature Pepper Steak or Steak Diane.   Australian, grass fed Filet Mignon with Homemade Pommes Croquettes and Bearnaise sauce, yum!

For Vegetarians, Chef Friddi has pasta on his menu, such as Penne Rigate in Gorgonzola Creamed sauce.   Or try his Vegetable Lasagne with layers of Aubergine, Oyster Mushrooms and Broccoli with a great fresh Tomato Sauce.

And his Seafood is also good, always fresh and prepared to perfection.

A great place for a celebration or just taking the time for a good dinner, well prepared by a talented Chef and served lovingly.

Phangan Cove Restaurant

Part of the charm of Phangan Cove is getting here.   Park your vehicle in the lot near Evolve Gym, at the South Side of Sri Thanu and walk across the rickety walking bridge.   Once over, you’ll see a bunch of old fishing boats, walk to the Right, over the many roots and trees until you reach Phangan Cove Resort, enter and wind yourself around their beautifully landscaped pathways towards the left or the Sea side and you will come upon the Restaurant.

It’s a really nice place to sit and eat, relax and enjoy the view, especially sunset time.

The food is really good, elevated Thai, I call it.   Chef Eui is a very talented Thai Chef and she always seems to bring to life regular Thai cuisine.   Her dishes are presented with flare and she always has fresh and perfect bunches of herbs, like Thai Basil on her plates to garnish, always fresh and never wilted, a feat unto its own.

Her Thai food is a level above most Thai food and her presentations beautifully and thoughtfully done.    All seafood here is Fresh and delicious, from Calamari or Squid, to huge Prawns and whole Fish, her preparation and seasonings are really good, very talented indeed.

Great Seafood, as I mentioned above, Vegetarian fare, terrific Soups, Thai Noodle and Rice dishes, all good.   Plus there are many Western dishes available which Chef Eui also prepares meticulously.

Take a look inside her kitchen on your way out and see how clean and organized a kitchen can and should be, impressive.

Great place!

L’Alcove

Ahhh, L’Alcove Beach Bistro, really nice, really romantic, really wonderful.  Owners & Operators Karine and Melanie are both from France, Karine from Medoc and Melanie from Normandy.    These two beauties have created a slice of France, Thai style on Koh Phangan.

Their Restaurant is located in Hin Kong, just South of the 7-11 and sits right on the Beach.

They’ve created a Very Romantic and Intimate spot with great food and maybe the largest and most thought out wine list on Koh Phangan.

The decor is so Sexy and Romantic.    With shades of reds and French posters lining the walls, the open air and sea breeze wafting through comfy tables, it is delightful!

On top of that, these woman have created an Entertainment venue for Koh Phangan, bringing together various performing artists, singers, musicians, painters, fire dancers to perform a couple of nights a week, during season.

These women are warm and wonderful, taking care of their guests as though they were in their living room, which is how I feel when I’m there.   Loved and comforted.

Food here is also unusual and good Bistro fare.     I really like their take on spring rolls, instead of the chunky roll ups we are all used to, they roll theirs in a stick fashion, making them long and crispy, really good.    Their fish dishes are excellent as well.

All good, all delicious and if you want Romantic, Warm, Cozy, Sexy and Nice, this is the Place.

Gotta make it at least one night while you are here or you’ll miss something special.
